PDFCreator - Installation on XC2 Server How To Document
This describes the steps to install PDFCreator on XC2 Server. This allows creating PDFs for publishing with XC2 Web

Printing to PDF from XC2 Server

We are in the process of adding functions to "Print" aka "Save" documents as PDF files that are generated on XC2 Server.
The first in this endeavor is to be able to print a completed Backflow Test Report from the XC2 Web system.

This, of course, only works if you have the XC2 Web option installed.

Over time, we will be implementing additional functions for printing PDFs on XC2 Server.

Please follow these directions carefully.
These settings and configurations are critical.

This also involves setting up the "Service" that XC2 Server runs in the Server.

Download PDFCreator v 1.7.3 (NOT: 2.x)

On your XC2 Server machine:

Download PDFCreator v. 1.7.3

Do NOT use v.2.x of PDFCreator!
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

Use v. 1.7.3
You can get this from XC2 Software

Right Click on the installer and select "Run As Administrator"

Do NOT install v2.x of PDF Creator

Click the NO button when you see the Setup Window

PDFCreator will download

Select "Expert Settings"

Click Next

Click: "I accept the Agreement"

Click Next

Click "Server Installation"

Click Next

Don't change this name!

Leave everything else set to defaults

Click "Install"

Installation may take a few minutes.

Finish PDFCreator Installation

Click "Finish" when the download is complete.

XC2 Server as a Service

If you are running XC2 Server as a service, you will need to change the "Log On" from the "System" account to an actual account.
This should be an account set up as an "administrator"

Configure PDFCreator

Start the PDF Creator application
("Run as Administrator"

Select: Options

Configure PDFCreator - No Automatic Update

Select General Settings : General Settings 2

Change "Update Interval" to "NEVER"
(This is important. You don't want PDFCreator to update to v. 2.2x)

Click "AutoSave"

Check the Autosave checkbox.
Leave the other settings as is.

Click "Save" when done.

You can now use the PDF functions on your XC2 Server
